We'll be doing a forum meet and greet this Sunday at the Glenwood Mall parking lot in West Monroe followed by an approximately 1-2 hour ride. If you are coming from I-20, get off on Thomas Road and head North about a 1/4 mile. The entrance to the Mall is on the left across the street from Wendy's and Captain D's. The parking lot will be mostly empty on the weekends so we should be easy to find. Meet up time will be 3:45pm and we'll head out around 4:15pm. If you have any trouble finding us, call my cell. Chad @ 318-812-8947

The ride below may get changed. I'm going to look for new places to ride and go check them out on Saturday. If it's a good ride we'll do it instead. If I can't find anything on Saturday, we'll fall back to the ride below. Also, I'm looking for suggestions on where to eat Sunday. Any reasonably priced place is fine. If no suggestions are made, I'll just pick something and hope it's decent.

If you have a smartphone you can get access to the ride details through a free app called Greatest Road. Just go to the map and zoom in on the Monroe area and click the "show me" button. Several pins will come up, select the green pin on the corner of New Natchitoches and Thomas Rd. named Redneck Run. That is a basic overview of the ride. Afterward, we will head somewhere for dinner. I'll be on the 2005 blue/white R1. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

You can do it Sloopy. I went down to Lafayette to meet Greg and Sop from Ruston and went back the same night. I shouldn't have because I had a test the next day, but it was fun haha!

Having ridden from Dallas to Monroe. 350ish miles, I can say that I really couldn't move for 3 days after that. It took 7 hours for a 5 hour trip and it rained about half of the trip. Not to mention it was my first ride in years. If I had just had a throttle lock or adjustable clip-ons, the ride would have been immensely easier. If you can manage it though, definitely come up. Get here a bit early so you take a nice break before the ride.

It's not so much the actual ride that I'm worried about, Just not sure how much I trust my bike just yet... hate to get stranded 3 hours from home lol... Been riding it back and forth to work, but I still can't fill the gas tank all the way up because of the leaks around the fairing bolt holes...

Hopefully, you don't run into any problems and can make it up soon. I've got to find some more places to ride. There's a route that goes up to the Arkansas Lock and Dam that I'm thinking about doing, but I want to ride it before I take a bunch of people on the route. I'm stuck going to a family reunion this Saturday so I don't think I'll have time to check it out before Sunday. Think we might do it for next weeks ride.

It's leaking around both of the tabs that have the fairing mounting spots near the front top of the tank... Gonna get a welder from work to tig it sealed for me... I need to repaint the tank anyway

By the way, that's the stupidest idea ever... Why put two holes in the tank that the bolts from the fairing have to plug up or your tank leaks... Bad move Kawasaki

Wow, didn't realize that. Yea, that's just bad engineering right there. Sounds like a fireball waiting to happen.

That's what I did, used Loctite weld on it, rode down to lake charles about a 50 mile ride... Hasn't seemed to leak any, all I lack now is my inspection sticker and finishing my test... I can ride as is, but still want to replace chain, sprockets, fluids and brakes...

Had a fun ride today. Ran into a little more traffic than usual. Had two new faces in the group. Jamison was able to make it down from Choudrant on his very nice ZX-6R. Lots of aftermarket goodies on that bike. Think it's time to start my Christmas list. We managed a pretty brisk pace and everyone made it back to Raising Canes in one piece for some fried chicken. We sat around discussing the finer points of the pop music cover songs being piped into the restaurant. Had some good laughs, hung out with some good people, another safe and fun ride for the books. Can't wait till next Sunday. Definitely, going to try and do a little longer ride next week as our current route seems to be shrinking every week. Wink Stay tuned for the details.
