#4 - Forum meet and greet/ride/dinner! Sunday, October 23, 2011
We'll be doing a forum meet and greet this Sunday at the Glenwood Mall parking lot in West Monroe followed by an approximately 1-2 hour ride. If you are coming from I-20, get off on Thomas Road and head North about a 1/4 mile. The entrance to the Mall is on the left across the street from Wendy's and Captain D's. The parking lot will be mostly empty on the weekends so we should be easy to find. Meet up time will be 3:45pm and we'll head out around 4:15pm. If you have any trouble finding us, call my cell. Chad @ 318-812-8947
We'll be heading up to the old Arkansas lock and dam (for real this time, even if I have to go by myself). This will mostly be a scenic ride passing by 3 lakes and will likely take a couple of hours. We'll grab some dinner in West Monroe when we get back. I'm open to suggestions on the eating place if anyone has any? If not we'll keep it simple and just go to Raising Cane's as usual.

Another wonderful ride courtesy of the Union Parish Sheriff's Office. Spent the last 11 hours in jail for reckless endangerment because I passed a truck 30 feet before the passing zone started. It's a wonderful world we live in ain't it?

Welcome to the club. I spent 5 days in jail earlier this summer for some stupid stuff thanks to Webster Parish Sherriff. Hope it doesn't affect anything with your job and what not. The police definitely had it out for motorcycles if they arrested you for that. Guess they had nothing better to do.

Yep, the cop was a real dick. Small town, back woods, chip on his shoulder type. Preaching to me about how I'm a public nuisance and all this crap. The kicker? This guy puts me in his car and then proceeds to not where a seat belt or strap me in, crossed the double yellow 6 times while talking on his cell phone and doing 12 mph over the posted speed limit on the way to the sheriff's office. Yea, I'm the nuisance...
Re: #4 - Forum meet and greet/ride/dinner! Sunday, October 23, 2011
That's why I'm contemplating not going out in the woods anymore. Not that I'm advocating it, but cops in the city have way more important crap to worry about so you have a lot more leeway. Really the only reason I still ride the backwoods is because there's no nearby track.

It's crap like this that makes me not want to even leave my house. You can't get 10 feet off your front lawn with out some prick looking to abuse his authority and take out his bad day on you. I'm not claiming innocence here but this guy blew things way out of proportion just so he could haul me off to jail and cost me an arm and a leg.

he must of been movin because i didn't see him till it was to late to warn u that he was back there. was waiting at a gas station a couple of miles down the road when a guy told me not to go that way because a sheriff had arrested a guy on a sportbike. then a wrecker goes by, so i ride by and see them loading it up so i headed home. that seems a steep to get arrested for that. did u get your bike back yet?

Wow so
Jus when I get my baby a1 again the cops take out Zero ; that's.
Bs we need a petition for a track because why even sell our machines if u can't push them even on harmless back roads ?

Worst part is we weren't even pushing it really. We were just cruising and got stuck behind a big ass MAC truck for like 2 miles. I saw an opening to pass and took it. I just started the pass a little before the passing zone began on the road. The cop was just being a dick. The thing that gets me is how every cop that pulls you over comes up to you with an attitude like you just pissed in his cheerios or something. Why do they make it personal. Like in this situation the cop purposely exaggerates the events in order to take me to jail. I didn't smart off to him or get mouthy. I was 100% yes sir, no sir, and as compliant as I could be. Then he turns around and breaks more laws than I did on the way to jail. The hypocrisy is just ludicrous. It's shit like this that makes people hate cops.
On another note, I was going to go pick my bike up from the impound yesterday but unfortunately someone hacked my XBOX live account and used my debit card info on there too clean out my bank account, literally 10 minutes before I got to the ATM to withdraw the money for the impound fees. My bank won't do shit about it. Microsoft says they have to do an investigation that could take a month to complete, and the police won't do shit without the results from Microsoft's investigation. So, no bike for me, and the 20 dollar a day storage fees are just sitting there racking up on my bike. Don't think I'll be putting a ride together this weekend. If anyone else wants to take the lead and set something up, feel free.

Wow, sorry to hear about all your troubles Zero. In the future, just buy those 1 year cards from walmart. That way they don't have my account info so if they hack my account, oh well. Microsoft should be liable for your damages, aren't they? It's their fault your account number got out. If I had the money I'd help you out, but these school/USAA loans are raping me every two weeks. I'm really sorry man.

I appreciate the advice Jordan. I'm sure the situation will be resolved soon enough. I'm mostly just venting here so that I don't go insane and do something I'll regret later.
Re: #4 - Forum meet and greet/ride/dinner! Sunday, October 23, 2011
Damn maybe it's just that I don't ride maybe as much as others but I have my routes that I like and I've never once seen a cop or even had a run in with them since owning my bike. Of course I do know a few places they hang around along my routes but hell where I ride out in the backwoods everyone is cool as shit. Old people walking their dogs or whatever down the road and they wave to you instead of acting like you're just some punk on a sportbike. Then again being from Houston and learning to drive in that traffic has maybe given me a different perspective where a cop isn't the biggest thing to worry about while riding.

Managed to get the bike back today. Had to shell out 454.36 to make it happen though. Union Parish can kiss my ass, won't be visiting there ever again.

I got a few texts today concerning a ride, so just to clarify, I haven't organized anything nor will I be attending anything. I had to take an advance on my paycheck in order to get my bike back and will be spending the rest of the day working off that debt. I'll organize a ride for next Sunday and hopefully the weather won't be too cold.

How about Saturday? We need to eventually figure out somewhere in between Shreveport and Monroe to meet up. Lake Claiborne maybe?
