Bi Xenon Retrofit for 2005-2006 ZX6R

Post  jordan777er on Thu Sep 29, 2011 3:30 pm

I recently finished a second retrofit of my headlights on my bike. I took the stock lights, opened them up, and installed a set of Morimoto Bixenon projectors into them so I could HID lights with out blinding everyone. The improvement in looks and performance is well with the little bit of money I spent on them, and it's always nice to have a mod that you installed on your own from scratch. On to the pics...

Here's a stock 636 headlamp:

And here's some pics during the install:

All Finished!

I decided to reopen my lights and do a flat black color change to coincide with my upcoming paint scheme, and I'll post pics of it soon.

The projector sits in the hole originally for the bulb, and then you use special lock washers coupled with rubber O-rings to keep it tight. I've had it like that for over a year and they haven't budged at all.

Here's some more old pics:

Alright, here's some updated pics. I don't have many because the camera has a hard time picking it up because it's so black, but it looks great in person I think.

Looks pretty sick, definitely liking that stealthy look. On the other hand you could have left it chromed out and put a red bulb in there and I swear it would look like the terminator eye's

I decided to go with black because my next paint scheme is going to be Pikes Pike White (350Z white) with a matte black stripe with gold as an accent color.
